Traveling is a very personal experience. We are years past the stage of back packing and hostel stays. Okay, being totally honest, I’ve never stayed in a hostel. Thankfully, we are very fortunate to be able to enjoy the finer things in life and we value our creature comforts. Because this trip is to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary — a very special occasion, we wanted our experience to be fairly stress free, comfortable, luxurious and memorable.
I am in my early 50s and Michael is in his early 60s. We’re both very fit and active. One of us is deathly afraid of heights and the other one of water. One of us is a more adventurous traveler than the other. One of us will freak out at the site of a bug, snake or rodent and call the other one to come to his aid. I am the travel planner and Michael goes along for the ride with almost anything, but has no desire to plan or research. He knows I’ll arrange everything and he’s right.
